The trailer for this was one of the best I've ever seen ... but man does the movie fail to live up to it. Terrible script, slow ponderous dialogue, just one cliche after another. But I should have known better to see something just based on the trailer. Woof.

Opinions vary and my vision is 20/20. Indeed some styles of video games have a dark, goth feel per the look of some of the scenes in this film.

[haven't watchd the movie yet, but i get a "driver", "beyond the pine" kind of vibe that puts me off, but colin farrell rarely done did bad movies... if it's real good i'll say it, errare humanum est.]
also, when u say "everyone has their opinion, dig" it's pretty over-optimistyk, most ppl actually are sold..., impulsed over with or don't ever bother with having one (opinion).
they live their life knowing that thinking is a risky business, they'd rather gamble & watch other ppl's toughts.

It was a bit disappointing. I don't think it was hugely bad but I can't help but feel that there was potential here for it to have been a truly great movie, it just fell short with some parts. Also it did become a bit cliche' as well.

first of all, Beatrice she is not even close to a monster with a couple of scars.

I am from Greece, sorry for the ignorance, I never in my life saw teenagers make fun of a person with few scars like that!
I lived 2 years in New York, but that scene was very weird & unrealistic, because if that's the case there is something seriously wrong!
other than that, I found it to be a nice action movie, with 1 or 2 surprises.
I guess since I didn't had high expectations when me & my husband watched it, we were pleased.
