i think you described it very well. its that core relationship that is really what got me hooked on this film.
the action scenes - i have seen them a hundred times. they are like cookie cutter "action move in a box" stuff. fast cut every 2 seconds so nobody can tell what the hell is going on, add really loud noises, rinse repeat. the ridiculous level is very high as well - oh im trying to hide what im doing being a sniper. now lets throw a guy out the window dangling from an electrical cord and then climb out myself and shoot another guy in the face in the view of thousands of people in daylight, most of whom have cellphone cameras now . well *beep* it, there are no cops here, they must be all to busy on the set of Olympus has Fallen . . honestly i thought it was the weak point, especially in the last ten minutes.
