Nothing major. Just watched the movie 3x and didn't notice till now. In the scene when Harry Tells Lloyd then need to get back to providence, He says ice pick went "down" to Maine. They are in Rhode Island. Maine is obviously north lol.
One super-obvious (but still funny) joke that I missed the first time was in the scene after the credits. LLoyd complains that he ordered a vanilla shake but was given chocolate and Harry complains that he ordered chocolate but was given vanilla. And instead of trading, they toss over their shoulders...to the chagrin of Seabass. Jokes like that are what Dumb and Dumber is all about and why even with the obvious flaws, I enjoyed the second movie because there's enough of those jokes.
Good catch. Definitely a subtle joke since the exact placing of all those small Northeastern states aren't exactly common knowledge. But still pretty funny once you get it, and should probably be expected of a residence of Rhode Island to know.
It's all those subtle things that you don't catch the first couple of viewings that makes the original so timeless for me!
Well I'm from Massachusetts but I'd still like to believe that people outside of new england aren't so ignorant to not know that Maine is the most northeastern state in the country

I too have certain expectations of what people do and don't know when it comes to places in my region. Shall I ask you questions about the Pacific Northwest and call you ignorant if you miss something?
Now that the movie is out on DVD, this is what I see happening. People are going to rewatch this movie a few times and each new viewing they'll see the subtle jokes. Movie will be much better thought of in about 2 years, sort of like the original.
Maine is often referred to as "Down East". Thus, it's not a joke at all. It is an actual location, albeit not an accurate geographical direction. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_East
