Something I Noticed...

According to Amy Acker on Rated NA-81 (http://www.nerdappropriate.com/2012/11/19/rated-na-81-amy-acker/), and the Costume Designer, Shawna Trpcic (Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, The Cabin in the Woods, and Much Ado About Noting), they were given the leeway to primarily wear their own clothes, which were selected from their closets, for this contemporary Shakespearean rendition, and admitted that their might have been a lot of production goofs during their covert twelve days of filming then.

In these two low-angle/medium close-up shots of Amy Acker (Beatrice) (with Jillian Morgese's Hero and Alexis Denisof's Benedick): http://www.imdb.com/media/rm434874368/tt2094064 and http://www.imdb.com/media/rm485206016/tt2094064, she more than appears to be wearing the same dress that she wore at the 2002 Fox Emmy Nominees Party (http://www.amy-acker.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=183), 2003's 24th Annual College Television Awards Ceremony (http://www.amy-acker.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=16), and 2004's 30th Saturn Awards - Arrivals/Show/Press Room (http://www.amy-acker.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=7, http://www.amy-acker.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=95, and http://www.amy-acker.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=6), which I don't exactly have a enormous issue with, because it is a beautiful dress, but it does somewhat seem like a bland dress to have worn during its production then. Of course, I am not Shawna Trpcic, and as much as I idolize Amy Acker, who nearly resembles Maya Rudolph now, or at least resembled her when she went to her last 2012 public appearance (http://www.amy-acker.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=479) prior to turning thirty-six twenty-three days later, the chosen dress doesn't seem like something Beatrice would wear; however, we still have less than seven months until this contemporary adaptation will get widely release, so until I know the dress's utter context in the "comedy noir's" romcom, I will reserve my criticism against it. What do you guys think?

idk about weather or not it is something the character would wear as I haven't read the play but the scene appears to be a wedding so maybe it is a bridesmaid's dress?

You also need to take into account that shooting in Black and White produces very different dynamics from fabric than standard colour, and often patterns that look garish in colour are perfectly fine in B/W, or the opposite - what seems elegant in colour is muted in B/W
