Last 20 minutes were intense

While I wasn't a huge fan of the entire movie I found myself freaking out at the end. If you started it hang in there cause the last 20 mins make it worth it. But yes, it was a good idea with poor execution

I totally agree with you. The film has its flaws - but I'm willing to bypass some of them if it delivers entertainment-wise and the last section of the film was worth the "price of admission" (Netflix streaming).
That whole last segment, when they arrive at the guy's house & manage to get in, was actually quite well put together. The decrepit interiors, the getting further & further into the bowels of the place not being able to find the girl, the car alarm going off, all of this framed with the awful expectation that the guy is going to show up at any moment, had me on the edge of my seat (and I was watching it in the dark). Things were running through my mind such as: Is there a girl there at all? Did the guy take the girl with him when he supposedly drove out for candy & was setting the kids up? What if there was some OTHER sicko in the house?
The best touch was when they knew the guy was coming back & they were trying to get out of the house IN THE DARK with only the occassional flash of light from their camera. When the screen went TOTALLY BLACK and the sound was reduced to just whispers & then total silence, I was covering my eyes. LoL.
