'WHY DIDN'T THE COPS SHOW UP!? So unrealistic...'

I think that the movie taking place in Arizona actually lends a lot of credibility to the cops not showing up.

Remember, folks... Phoenix Arizona is the kidnapping capital of the United States. In fact, it has one of the highest kidnapping rates in the world. Not to mention all of the drug cartel activity down there. I'm sure that, averaging more than one reported kidnapping per day, there's a possibility the some officers might not have heard about this one specific amber alert.

Also, this movie got annoying at times. I wanted to yell at that dude who was driving the car, and I wanted to shut up the girl in the front seat. However, I don't think this film deserves such a low rating on IMDb. It's not perfect, but it's also not terrible.

I feel like a lot of people give it such a low rating because of the "unrealistic" behavior of the police. What I'm trying to say is... it might be, unfortunately, very realistic.

PROVE IT!

Sad to say, but the incompetence of the police seemed to be realistic enough - except they skipped the part where the cop took 20 minutes to STILL give those kids a ticket for speeding.

Police Rule #1 Never let a serious crime get in the way of generating state revenue.

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.

What was unrealistic is that every time she spoke with the operator she hung up. If they told her to follow him they should have stayed on the line until the issue was resolved. I watched either a 20/20 or ID show about this grown woman who was getting kidnapped. The first call came from the guys niece who said her uncle had a girl "who didn't want to be there" in his car. The second call ( there actually may have been three) came from another woman who actually saw the woman banging on the windows tied up and yelling for help. The operator made her follow him and stay on the line the whole time giving street names and areas they were passing. Unfortunately, either when they were on the express way she couldn't get over quick enough and he got off or he took a sharp turn, I can't remember which, she lost him. The cops didn't catch up with them in time and she was murdered. They actually found him that night though because they saw his car parked and he had already rape, murdered and buried her. He was charged though because he was obviously guilty and had supplies in his car.
Anyways, the fact is that they made her stay on the line to give detail of where they were because saying, "He's going south on the Eway!" doesn't account for if he decides to get off the next exit.
