Who gets more jail time?

Nate electronically spied on a citizen, broke into a his house, damaged property, and ultimately killed him with a stolen gun.

Michael kidnapped a girl for a few hours and killed an intruder inside his own home (the latter is not a criminal offense).

If both were put in front of a jury, who's offenses would rack up more jail time?

reply

Well, he was also molesting and raping girls, and probably killing them, too. So, you have to remember that the ends justified the means in this situation. Don't you think? That man was a monster.

reply

I doubt that Nate & crew would had been gotten on anything, in the end they're hero's for what they did.

I wish I knew of court cases where something like this had happened, while Sam and Nate were intruders, they definitely had a good reason, and I really doubt that shooting an unarmed intruder in the back of the head would fly, especially when you know their intentions. And anyway, he baited them into the house on purpose, so yeah.

reply

It appeared to be an abandoned house. Not sure about the breaking and entering.

reply

I agree, this had to have been an abandoned house, so they definitely wouldn't have been seen as intruders. If this wasn't an abandoned house, I'm even more disappointed in the cops in this movie; they have the license plate number -- that means they have the name and address of the kidnapper.

reply

Yeah you can be seen as an intruder abandoned homes are private property

reply

Intruder, yes. Intruder in the kidnapper's home (in reference to the OP), no.

reply

Intruder in the kidnapper's home (in reference to the OP), no.

What do you mean by that?

reply

The OP (original post) said that the kidnapper killed an intruder in his own home. If the house was abandoned, he didn't kill an intruder in his own home. He killed an intruder in an abandoned home, in which he himself was also an intruder.

reply

Yeah you are right the kidnapper was basically a squatter

reply

it is illegal to enter an abandoned house,it is private property

reply

Are you serious? You seriously think a jury would convict ANYONE who saved a little girl from being raped and molested? You think they'd convict them of petty *beep* like "spying on a citizen", breaking into a house, etc.. They would've gotten off scott free. Especially with all that video evidence.

reply

Yeah but criminals try to turn things around on people, they might not convict them for spying on him,but that is illegal to do even if he is a predator you can't just bug somebody's car and there is a chance the video evidence could be thrown out because they bugged his car. I am not defending that sexual predator and Sam and Nate would considered heroes, but honestly the case can be damaged because of how they did things. They would probably would get off scott free but i guarantee you they would have had a hard time in court

reply

The only thing they were all guilty of is placing the microphone into his car, and breaking and entering private property (it wasn't his house, it was clearly abandoned).

There was a case in I think, Texas? A man found ut his child daughter had been molested. He killed the man and the judge gave him no jail time. So, I'm going to say Micheal.

reply

In Texas they also had a law where if a man killed the man his wife cheated on him with he would get in trouble because his emotions were to strong. lol
