Why don't they just change direction?

shareBecause no one knew who was flying the plane that they were in direct collision with each other because none of the instruments were working. Not only that upgrade they did in Air Force One rendered the pilots useless. When they found out about it was when the ATC finally was able to get a hold of a the pilots and let them know by that time the planes were only 30 seconds apart.
shareI don't get why the civilian plane didn't just land sometime soon after they got a hole in the side of the plane, or hell, even before. They were having a lot of trouble before then.

Oh god we have a hole in our plane bUT OUR AIRLINE HAS A CUSTOMER GUARANTEE FOR ON-TIME ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES AND WE MUST HONOR IT.
