I Must Be Straight!

I didn't know a single thing they were talking about in their 'test'. I must be straight then! "New Normal" your screwing yourself over! I foresee no season 2 and I had high hopes for you.

I Agree! This Show sucks

The point of the episode was to prove that not everyone's gaydar is accurate... and Bryan & Shania's clearly wasn't.

Their test was completely stereotypical. All the tests given were tests an ignorant small minded dick would make up. Making a game of how to figure out someones sexuality is pathetic and shameful. I can't believe a gay man is responsible for this mess and gay actors agreed to be a part of this show.

Which is why they were all called out for doing it. Chris and Bryce had every right to walk out when they did.

A gay or straight person should not be playing ridiculous games to figure out someones sexuality. A gay individual should understand that above all. The fact that they are depicting a gay man using stereotypes to figure out the possibility of two men's sexuality is absolutely ridiculous. No respectful mature gay man would ever do that. Brian obviously has the mind of a child. He listens to Shania too often.

Oh, it is very true. And Bryan is probably my least favourite character because of his immaturity...

Whhhaaaa???

Okay, I understand the viewpoints expressed in this thread, however. I am a gay man, and of course I have several gay and straight friends. As much as everyone is aware that stereotypes are not always true to say that stereotypes don't exist is simple ignorance, and while a straight man can have gay tendencies I don't know any gay man who would see a gay stereotype and not assume he was gay until given a reason to think otherwise, same for straight people.

I thought it was a good episode and taught a good lesson but I thought the gaydar game was funny and relatable because it happens all the time.

This all reminded me of a hilarious scene in the Kevin Kline film In & Out:

Kline: "But I - Am - Not - Gay!"

Tom Selleck: "What was Streisand's eighth album?"

KK: "Color me Barbara."

TS (mockingly): "Stud."

KK: "Everybody knows that!"

TS: "Everybody where? The little gay bar on the prairie?"

The whole point was that the test itself was *beep* and they realized that. People can't be stereotyped like that.

I failed the test too, which I found funny. However, that was the point later made in the episode about NOT steorotpying or limiting people.
