This movie confirms why I will never own an Apple product...

Well, this film is very well made, let's be honest. I'm very anti-Apple because of reasons anyone else is anti-Apple. And it shows in the film just within the first 10 minutes, that even Steve Jobs is struggling with his own decicions.
"Don't you have a screwdriver?"
"It can't be open with a screwdriver, it needs special tools to be opened and I don't have them with me".
(Not an actual dialogue from the movie, just a short version)

I had a friend who was good with technology and could fix *beep* for himself. He had an iPhone and a single water droplet got into jack socket of it and ruined it. He wrote to Apple to fix it on warranty, but they declined as they said he damaged the thing himself and they only could offer to fix it for half the value of the phone. He decided to fix it himself, because he knew he could, but couldnt get inside the *beep* thing without damaging it, because he didn't have the "Special tools".

I have a friend living in London, being die-hard user of iPhone and iPad. He has the cheapest TV in his room (like 20 inches or so) and is going through life as cheap as he can, but he owns those two *beep* things. And once he asked me to borrow my laptop, because he needed to do some online tests and *beep* to get a promotion in his job. I borrowed him my laptop, and when he was done, he asked if he could keep it a bit longer, because he got into some online game that wasn't avaliable for Apple users. I left him my laptop. He gave it back to me couple months ago with some *beep* installed on it, so he can access some Apple media or something, that I can't uninstall (seriously).

I'm anti-apple because I think Apple products are highly overpriced and inaccessible. I dress myself in shops with casual clothing and the way I look at iStore is the same as I look at United Colors of Benetton store - rich hipster's stores. And both are always almost empty when I pass them by in the shopping center.

And the movie proves that behind all what I hated about Apple products stands one guy, that is kinda self-centered dickhead, thinking of himself as artist of computing. I liked the movie, as the movie as it is great job of Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin (mostly Sorkin) with actors giving great performances, but it let me understand why I'm so anti-apple. I wonder if when Bill Gates will die, some skilled screenwriter-director team will be able to make movie about him so soon after his death and Apple fans will feel the same.

[EDIT]
Oh, and to be honest I didn't read much about the movie before I've seen it, so I was patiently waiting for it to show Jobs going full douche before iPhone and iPad launch. Luckily it was spared.

lol Yeah I'm going to have to agree with you.. I kind of hate everything about Apple.. Apple people are all snobs.. I can't tell you how many people have told me how they have "good taste" and people who aren't apple people have no taste at all.. They all act like they are anti big corporation but yet they are getting down and worshipping Apple.. A big corporation lol.

Apple people always say stuff like "I like Apples because they look nice and aren't big and clunky".. I honestly don't know what they mean by that.. I mean I use a PC Laptop and its not big a clunky it basically looks the same as an apple laptop except its black and doesn't have an apple logo on it. Apple people always say stuff like "Oh PCs get virus' and break really fast" lol thats a load of crap too.. I have been using the same laptop for like 6 years almost now and its still running perfectly fine.. I could go on and on about this but I won't...but yeah I hate everything Apple stands for to be honest.

Had my Macbook Pro for over 4 years now.
Best, most enduring computer I have ever had (and I've had many). And great OS.
To open it (clean the fans or whatever), all it takes is a "special" $1 screwdriver. So what

reply

Closed systems are basicly as ANTI Computer as it gets, the complete and full oppositeĀ³.

Its not the design. Not the functionality. Not the marketing. Not the person of Steve Jobs. Not the price. Not the hardware. Not the software.
Its the ideology behind this company. And i am happy to see a species, that had and still choose freedom.

I've owned Macs for my entire life, and use them as an audio/video professional.
My current 2012 Mac Pro will be my last Apple product for the foreseeable future.

Why? Because with every new OS, the Mac becomes less & less user-friendly. The company has completely forgotten about the user base that made the company what it is. Now they mostly make shiny little i-toys that all have to link together in their shiny little i-universe, with minor revisions coming out every i-year.

But the Mac Pro? It's been crippled. They've changed everything they could to keep us from being able to maintain them, upgrade them, repair them ourselves.. You can barely even get to the system folder any longer. Everything has been re-designed for "Mom & Po" idiot-proofness. They FORCE you to do things the way they think you should. It's beyond frustrating.

Funny, the same company that came out with that brilliant ad in 1984 has BECOME Big Brother.

I'm i-done.

As portrayed in this movie(and by the very early products) it was the aim from the beginning(basically). Closed system.
Yeah, they are and were able to bribe the customer with other good things, but the ideology of the company was ANTI information age and anti freedom.
Because if you dont control THIS powerfull technology, it controls you.

In ~10-20 years, when MS has got on the same level. Apple will become the rebel with an open system. Lolz.

I have an Ipod, it was very convenient and I enjoyed using it. But even if I didn't use it at all, the battery kept draining on it. I also didn't like the way it interfaced with ITunes. I'd rather be able to just drag and drop my music into the device.

I have an android phone, and it keeps a charge for days of use. My girlfriend has an IPhone and she has to keep charging the thing once or twice a day.

I think the main thing about Jobs and Apple was the innovations. The good innovations found their way into other products eventually.

Steve Jobs is the very first list on the reason why I hate apple
then the list goes on as what OP said
but none is as close as the first point

These overdramatic emoters are chewing the scenery. I changed my 3 rating to a 2. Just the worst excuse for a movie ever.

As a programmer I own both PCs, Microsoft Surface, a MacBook Pro, IPhone, and IPad.

The IPhones and IPads are great products. But I think Google is overtaking them in the near future with the dud IPhone 7 and Apple Watch.

And the Surface is killing the MacBook Pro, as you see Apple scrambling with their sorta kinda touch screen.

I'm am far from a hipster or Apple snob, but they are great products. But PCs are just as good. Maybe not the hipster cool, but PCs will always rule because of Microsoft Office.

As awesome as the IPhone was and is, as great as it has been to connect our world, it has just made people into zombies.

Ya know what? You can actually credit it to electing Trump. People are listening to the media anymore, they are talking on social media. That is why the pollsters and media got it all wrong. They were preaching to the choir but everyone else was talking on social media and knew it was OK to vote for Trump because their friends were, too.

^ That's an interesting concept.

And very, very scary.

I hate apple, but this movie is 99% fiction. Jobs wasn't nearly the *beep* they painted him as. I loved the movie, but it wasn't accurate.

Also I think that you will soon realize this is my signature.

I don't like Steve Jobs either and Apple, but for different reasons. After seeing the BBC panorama documentary filmed in Apple factory in China. it all made me sick. Steve jobs and Apple were and ARE slave traders, pure and simple. I wonder if Americans know how their Apple iphone is made...How one can buy such a device which is made spilling blood of zillions of slaves !? If you don't know what I am talking about I will give you one example I saw in that documentary. In one ex Apple chinese factory (after this scandal they hired another chinese company) people who worked for them, wind up suiciding by throwing down of the Apple building. After inquring what do you think Apple officialy said and done ? They said that they will provide better working condition etc etc. What they did ? They BUILD NETS SO PEOPLE WHO JUMPED FROM THE BUILDING WILL FALL INTO THEM, INSTEAD OF THE PAVEMENT...A cynical reply...
So bottom line: this film and even its title is an insult to human race and our rights.

PS - in that documentary there is also a fragment in which Steve Jobs is asked if he knew about slavery in China in his factory. Even when he is repeatedly asked, he evades the answer. No wonder he died in pain, from cancer. He deserved it.

Don't worry, Prince.

With Trump & the ultra-right now in power (possibly for life) we will soon have 5X as many people in prison as we do now. (& we already lead the world by a huge margin)

All prisoners will be forced to build products for companies like Apple, for maybe 50 cents an hour.

Forget China, America will become the new world manufacturing force. Nobody does slave labor like Donald trump! Nobody!

Make America Great Again!

See, everybody in America really WILL have a job!
- They just won't be able to afford to buy a cup of coffee, and early parole will be nothing but a dream.
