Who comes up with the dumbest ideas for movies, and who pays for this garbage?

It wasn't made for basement dwellers and their shoddy Kodi setups, apparently.

I enjoy sci-fi movies if they're made well with a good story like Gattaca, District 9, Ad Astra, Oblivion, Aliens, Minority Report, Predator, Total Recall, Prometheus, Edge of Tomorrow, The Martian, Elysium, Terminator 1&2, Interstellar, War of the Worlds, Arrival, Moon, Superman 1&2, Man of Steel, Alien: Covenant, The Abyss, Starship Troopers, I Robot, Avatar, Minority Report, The Matrix, Stargate, Event Horizon, Blade Runner 1&2, Solaris, RoboCop, Alien, Star Wars movies, Star Trek movies, 2001:ASO, Raised by Wolves, etc....I try not to judge a movie too harshly before I've watched it. That being said, judging by the trailer of this particular sci-fi movie, it does look like garbage.

The whole point of movies like this is entertainment and escapism. Why do they need to have anything to do with what's "real or relevant"?
There are plenty of Tom Hanks bio-pics that are closer to real life.

Its a trend that started with that stupid one where it turned out , at the end , that "the wind" was behind it all ... or was it trees.

Then there was that recent "lets be vewy vewy quiet .." cos monsters .

all living creatures can hear each other's thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise.

actuially , this isnt as stupid as it sounds....

its a metaphor for the internet right? :)

I watched it anyway and yup, it was dumb. In my list of worst movies of the year so far.
1. WW84
2. Kong v Godzilla
3. Chaos Walking

Number one being the worst. Chaos Walking can do the whole story without the shouty mcshouts and it would still work and be even way better. 4/10
