Carax / Chimps

I'm wondering if this is how Carax views digital filmmaking through proposing the idea that even a chimp can run a digital camera.

I saw this similarly to you; but I saw it as the chimps in front of the camera and not behind it.

Oscar already vocally criticizes the size of cameras and how he can now forget that they are there; but I saw this as more of a slight to the "stars" of today who really aren't that talented. Oscar was in this final role in the film with lesser talent (which IS and WAS rather degrading to him).

I think he could be making the point you've put out there too -- but I just saw all that Oscar did at an appointment as screentime. We never saw anybody behind the cameras in the other vignettes (except for one photographer with a camera) so I just had that carry over to the final one as well.
