should have been a little more acrimony

That the couple was divorced in the first place spoiled the movie, because they were both such nice people and got along so well. In fact, the new husband was also part of this one big happy family. It just didn't make sense and seemed to be only an unthought-out plot device.

Yeah, the husband seemed to be quite understanding to his wife researching the background of the new wife. I get that this woman is around her daughter but it seemed is if she cared a bit too much.

more acrimony is always a good idea! adds some spice to any relationship. much like a jalapeno.

Yeah, I was getting the vibe that they were going to make up. Or just bone. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see a divorced couple getting along so well.
