So... basically the worst cancellation EVER
i'm very upset

You obviously have not seen the series finale of 'Alphas'. That is the worst cliffhanger I have ever seen in a TV show after it was cancelled.
shareYeah as bad as that one was, there have definitely been worse ones. At least the Patriots story was resolved. A bit rushed, but I'd say it was fairly believable since we already knew Texas was a very powerful nation and the Patriots needed them to be either destroyed or on their side to win.
If you don't want to be spoiled, you shouldn't be here in the first place.
You must haven't seen Alcatraz .. Just as bad lol
NBC obviously felt there was no reason to spend money on a reshoot of a cancelled show.
shareI would entertain the notion that Carnivale was a more frustrating cancellation, but there was enough foreshadowing in the show that you could guess and deduce future events on your own.
"I said no camels, that's five camels, can't you count?"
I still feel bad about Carnivale getting cancelled. Revolution, not so much.
shareSucks to be left hanging with "Revolution". "Carnivale" and "Twin Peaks" are the worst of the worst, to me. And "Flash Forward" really left so many questions...

I smell dark magic! It's a bit like burnt popcorn.
Twin Peaks had some resolution, between the finale and the movie.
But something like that would never resolve everything.

Except for when season 3 comes out next year.

What I don't get is why producers don't at least plan ahead a bit and end their shows with a bit more closure like the way Aaron Sorkin ended the Newsroom last season.
This show has been getting HORRIBLE ratings since 2nd season premier. The writing was on the wall for months. Just create a bit of closure if nothing else. Anyone who knows anything about ratings saw this coming and I find it hard to believe the network gave no hints the show wasn't doing as expected.
12 Years a Slave Best Picture Of The Year!!!!!!
Thank you! I've been saying the same thing. I don't know why people are acting like this was a surprise. Given it's ratings, it was always on the bubble with a slightly greater chance of being cancelled than renewed. NBC doesn't produce it so it's not like they'd be able to recuperate current lost revenue on syndication of it later. The production staff of Revolution at Bad Robot could have chosen to write a finale that served as both a season and series finale in case it wasn't picked up but they chose not to.
shareThey couldn't bring too much closure without it feeling rushed--the Patriot issue did get some closure (we don't see the war that supposedly will bring them down, but it's implied that with Texas (and probably California as well) fighting them after the false flag op is revealed, it's only a matter of time), but even that felt a bit rushed. I think the producers knew it would be cancelled and did the best they could to wrap up what they could at a plausible pace.
The nano thread had no way of plausibly getting wrapped up in that short time, I don't think, so they chose to leave a cliffhanger for that, maybe in the hopes that a movie or something could wrap that up. If fans demand that a la Firefly/Serenity, maybe they'll make one. That could almost be a different story entirely though--much more science fiction orientation. But if they tried to wrap that up by S2 end, it would have been way too rushed. It would certainly not be a problem that could be solved very quickly (barring some huge deus-ex-machina anyway).
Understanding is a three-edged sword.
Firefly getting cancelled was the worst! This show should go to SyFy
“Ten percent of nuthin’ is…let me do the math here…nuthin’ into nuthin’…carry the nuthin’…”
Absolutely agreed that Firefly was the worst cancellation ever--and the producers obviously didn't see that coming midseason, there was no way they could.
The best we can hope for with Revolution probably is a movie dealing with the nanotech issue and Bradbury, Idaho. Fans clamored and got a movie that brought some closure to Firefly, maybe they can do the same here--at least in this case the show's producers were able to leave a good opening for that.
A series reboot would be better for that though (I can't see the nano issue getting solved very easily or quickly anyway)--I can dream at least.

You never watched the last episode of Terminator, did you?
