I almost didn't watch Revolution when it aired because of the way The Event as well as several other similar apocalyptic shows around the same couple of years were handled. It seemed a huge risk to trust NBC to see this to the end. Still, I went for it anyway because it seemed a bit like the Walking Dead but without Zombies and with a more (on the surface) plausible story line and threat scenario. Electricity no longer working was an interesting concept to me. As the show went on my interest faded as some of the scifi elements made no real world sense. By the end I sort of wished I hadn't started watching it especially as like so many other shows it got canned before they could end the story. But also because of how the characters constantly flip flopped.
Good shows on IMDB sometimes get bad ratings. Some end up middle of the road which is where Revolution sits. Between a 6 & 7 seems fair to me. That's actually the two scores I wrestled between giving it as of the series finale. At the beginning I though it was easily an 8. It's not the greatest show of all time in it's genre (or in any category). It's not a bad show that deserves a 5 or below. It's to me a barely passing show because of the direction the plot went, the plot holes in the science, and ultimately with it being unfinsihed. I know the comic is there but it's not part of how I would rate show on IMDB as the rating here is really only for the show. I think many that watched through the series consider this another disappointment of the networks and their final scores are what is represented.
