Why low rating ?

Must say I enjoying this show,I had not heard of it till browsing through Netflix 1 eve,I checked the rating on here and was undecided to watch but I did and glad I did,u see when a tv show gets a rating under 7 on here it's usually bad there are shows getting 7,8 arena even 9 that for the life of me don't know why but this show deserve at least 8.5 it's pure corny but very enjoyable u can see it doesn't take itself 2 serious which is rare these days on tv ,how do they rate shows on here is it quality or popularity?

I almost didn't watch Revolution when it aired because of the way The Event as well as several other similar apocalyptic shows around the same couple of years were handled. It seemed a huge risk to trust NBC to see this to the end. Still, I went for it anyway because it seemed a bit like the Walking Dead but without Zombies and with a more (on the surface) plausible story line and threat scenario. Electricity no longer working was an interesting concept to me. As the show went on my interest faded as some of the scifi elements made no real world sense. By the end I sort of wished I hadn't started watching it especially as like so many other shows it got canned before they could end the story. But also because of how the characters constantly flip flopped.

Good shows on IMDB sometimes get bad ratings. Some end up middle of the road which is where Revolution sits. Between a 6 & 7 seems fair to me. That's actually the two scores I wrestled between giving it as of the series finale. At the beginning I though it was easily an 8. It's not the greatest show of all time in it's genre (or in any category). It's not a bad show that deserves a 5 or below. It's to me a barely passing show because of the direction the plot went, the plot holes in the science, and ultimately with it being unfinsihed. I know the comic is there but it's not part of how I would rate show on IMDB as the rating here is really only for the show. I think many that watched through the series consider this another disappointment of the networks and their final scores are what is represented.

Bad writing especially second season. You gotta have a plan for where the show is going and how to get there. Eps need to have some filler but need to be focused on the main goal. They lost that

I agree with you. I'd put it easily with the top "end of the world" type TV shows. The acting was, with a couple exceptions, outstanding. The action and suspense were well done and the entire story was not over the top (aliens and zombies). This is one of those shows that make you want to give it a 10 just to balance out the ratings. I know it wasn't a 10, but it sure wasn't a 6.5 either. I consider Revolution a solid "8" for an entertaining TV show. It wasn't art, but it was good quality, gripping entertainment. I was sad to see it end.

I'd agree with that for season one. Season two I think was an epic fail. They should have kept the main plot on getting the power back instead of the "intelligent nano" and rescue of the week.

Funny thing is, that every single episode received better rating, than the entire show.
Statists (I know, the worst kind of the lies) says, that the average rating of the episodes is well over 8.
The episodes from the second season (according to the viewers much worse than the first) occupy the first 9 of 10 positions in the episodes ranking.
Strange...

I know your deepest secret fear...
