Comic Book Ending - SPOILERS

In the last scene, we see an older Charlie--I would guess 20 years later--and still no power? I think that sucks. The whole premise of the show was to get the power back on, right? Well, at least to me it was, and now at the official conclusion of the series, it's still not on. I don't like that.

That was one premise of the show. It flopped around so much who knows. They really rushed the last edition of the comic too much imo. They didn't have enough time to develop the ending well. I

Wasn't the implied point that "power" creates false SENSE of happiness and that man was better off without it? So, a happy ending after all.

But the problem is by the end of the show the very thing that kept the power off had become the biggest threat that needed to be removed. Granted I haven't read the comics (and doubt I ever will), but I can't see a believable resolution where that could have remained in place without there still being danger. But yeah, having the power never come back is really disappointing, but of course the ending given in the comics was most certainly rushed just for the sake of some ending.

If you don't want to be spoiled, you shouldn't be here in the first place.

It's a webcomic that the producers made available for free viewing online. And the whole thing is rather short. So it's worth checking out.

reply

Yeah, the whole thing felt rather rushed due to the short length and so much stuff happening.

reply

Well, take it as a twist ending. They learn to live with no power, thereby subverting viewer/reader expectations.
