A cast that makes Keanu look like a good actor.
I now like the original Point Break.
shareThere is a lot of 5.3 bad movies out there. This isn't one of them. It's horrible! 8 minutes, that's all I could give it. On 2 separate viewings(don't ask). And I am no superfan of the original(is anybody).tread carefully, have like extreme low expectations. Maybe lower. Good luck.
shareIm prob halfway through and I realize that...it hasnt even come close to capturing the feel of the original film. Not that the original point break was some fantastic movie...but this all feels so forced. Theres not a natural bit of dialog to be found.
shareAgreed, the dialogue is awful. And yes, Keanu looks like an accomplished actor next to these stiffs.
shareThis film has no soul...ironic considering what it's about...
shareI loved the original Point Break, but you're knocking acting? Reeves was horrible in the first one, which is what made his character believable.
Edgar Ramirez was freaking awesome in this movie.
Had they made this an original movie, not called it Point Break and just gone with whatever, it would not get the hate it does.
Now, was it a good movie? Mehhhhh. It was watchable. It looked like Hollywood, GoPro and Red Bull had a threesome, but watchable.
You're knocking the acting though? Lori Petty, Keanu Reeves, Gary Busey ... really? C'mon man. I love the Busey, but holy hell.
Yes. Edgar Ramirez was good though, but the problem wasn't the acting so much as the terrible writing and directing. There was almost no story to be had. It was like watching a really long music video, without music.
sharePoint break 1991 is a classic film by an Oscar award winning director. Glad you saw the light.
shareThere are very few good method actors EVER. It's a myth that most people you see in movies and shows are acting at all.
And with that, Keanu Reeves is a good actor. He plays himself. He is a great person.
I was pissed this movie was remade, but it was alright. Ramirez was good and the choreography was outstanding.
So true... although to be fair to Keanu, he's actually decent when he suits the role (Bill and Ted, the original PB, Speed, The Matrix... )
Still, he's got his fair share of poor performances, too - only this cast makes him look like Daniel freaking Day Lewis!
