I really didn’t get Amber’s reasoning for reacting to the video like she did. She had initially told her co workers that she didn’t care about who Clay was in the past, she even got huffy with him for his question from the book about how many men she had slept with.

Why did she react to a video of him from 9 years in the past as the story explained the video took place? Why was her rationale to go get drunk and go home with a stranger? Her character didn’t get any points with me by walking away from the womanizer at the last minute; she reacted to a piece from his past after snapping at him about her own past being behind her.

I really wanted to like this film but I found her actions towards the end really annoying. Was she actually justifying getting drunk and sleeping with a complete stranger as a payback for a video he made from when he was in college years earlier???? I understand they had to have a major conflict in order to get to the inevitable happy ending, but that course of action really made no sense at all to me!

I WANNA CONQUER THE WORLD... or at least the tri-state area

I think it was one thing imagining him as a player as a hypothetical in her mind, it was quite another actually seeing him in action.
When she was saying he was no longer the same guy, refusing to watch the DVD, it was because she was really liking him and intrigued by him. Then they had that big wall come up when she tried to break his personal wall down. Maybe to convince herself she was better off without him, she decided to watch the video to justify walking away.

Based on what the audience saw of the videos, I think she was justified in her outrage, since it looked like Clay made a living by videotaping a bunch of date rapes.
