DONT BELIEVE THE (ANTI) HYPE

I'd just like to say this was a great little film. Creepy, well directed, just the right kind of frights. If you enjoy good old fashioned haunts then this is for you. I really like The Others and i think this is in that vain, what i mean by that is it keeps you captivated and there is good dose of mystery that keeps you guessing till the end. I have no idea why people dont like this other than it doesn't fit todays dose of blood and guts that seems to be so popular. Give me a haunted house anytime. Im glad i ignored such a low rating on IMDB, to be honest the scores here are often correct but i chose to listen to the few people on this board who also chose to speak out against the terrible reviews

Yes I back your points made 100%
The film was really well directed, the scares were well delivered and not predictable or over done. Think a great balance of story between scares and tension which unwrapped at a good place with a realistic twist which was believable and not as stupid as some twists of late which I have seen with the likes of the current cinema release 'sinister'. this I think beats that hands down. The pact got slated for poor pace ,length and acting? What? The lead , Caity Lotz carried the film so well and had a huge presence in every scene which is not easy. She surprised me when compared to her previous stuff such as 'bring it on'. Gore is to shock a already very hard to shock generation after the likes of Saw etc. This is classic psychological, paranormal horror with a thriller murder theme. Real good stuff.
