In this case the closing eye scene was very logical, IMO.

Well, if you remember there were two keys. Might have been more than one brother, if you take that the eye at the end of the film wasn't her dream or his ghost.

I'm skeptical that it will work. This story was pretty self contained. The killer is dead. No more needs to be said, other than more back story.

So they'll just do some other ghost story thing and make up some kind of forced pact to keep the title.

Insidious did a good sequel, so it's possible to pull it off.
