Decided to watch this. Wish I hadn't. Even Damon and DaFoe clearly don't want to be in this movie. Good lord, absolute nonsense.

It's pretty bad. Obvious Chinese propaganda.
How did Damon even end up on this? Was it such a massive paycheck that he couldn't turn it down? Or did he want to get into the good graces of the CCP?
it's an historical epic, as a major liberal he wanted to help propagandize some Chinese stuff for the American audience

But a silly, ridiculous godawful movie, not a boring godawful movie. Mildly entertaining if you're in the right frame of mind.
Yeah, what a disappointment, and this was one of the very first 4K UHD discs that I bought, but this was a few years ago. Talk about a let down, I was all excited to test out the newest HD tech, only to suffer this crap. The movie is so bad, you can't be bothered to care about the video quality or anything else.
My only defense for myself buying this was that there weren't many 4K titles to choose from at the time.
