What were they trying to keep out?

Spoiler alert: Mongolians. Not dragons. What a ridiculous premise. Then they put Matt Damon in a ponytail and expect us to not think this movie is a joke? Wow...

"There are too many of them. Can't kill the world."

Yes, but people say it is all 'fantasy'. So it can't be read as saying anything at all about China. This is why the Chinese government approved it all. Because it is a fantasy that says nothing at all about China.

I am not one of those people.

Well, I don't think this story is meant to be that realistic or historically accurate.

I'm going to go there: if a Nazi made a film about rats or pigs or some other vermin taking over the country and needing to be exterminated, would it excusable as 'fantasy'? Or could we infer something from the elements about what they were saying?

Not saying it is. I'm just making fun of the tagline and the set-up. They throw that tagline out like the building of the Great Wall is some great mystery. If they had just done away with the whole "what were they trying to keep out?" bit, it would be easier to accept the premise as fantasy, but the set-up is just laughable.

Mongolians do jobs that Chinese won't do. AND... they're just trying to feed their family... of 13 anchor babies... all of whom are stupid and will not learn Chinese... but will get welfare... and paint flames on their chariots.
