Right now I think it will be lucky to break even. It supposedly has a 150 million dollar budget and so far had only grossed around 200 million. From what I've heard it underperformed in China were it was supposed to bring in its biggest money. I doubt it will be a huge hit in the US.
The Great Wall has grossed
$224.6 million Overseas, and $170.4 million of that total is from China ... the rest of that total--$54.2 million--is from other countries; which does not yet include Australia, Japan, Russia, or the United Kingdom.
I don't think the film's failure has much to do with Matt Damon though. I think it has to do more with the film itself.
