I think she died (young). What the book discussed indicated it was highly unlikely Patsey was going to survive much longer. She had about four threats against her despite youth. She was being whipped (like what was portrayed in the film) to the point of deep wounds. She could have succumbed to infection. The wife was also trying to bribe other slaves and field hands to kill her (though this wasn't brought up much in the film) eventually one of them could have done it. Epps could have killed her in anger one day. She also thought of suiciding.

Nothing was looking very good for Patsey. I wish this film was just a fantasy on film because it's hard to stomach that Patsey did exist, suffered immeasurably and more than likely died horribly.

She actually outlived Solomon Northup. Patsy lived to be freed in 1863. After that she faded from history.
