.........and had to watch a comedy film afterwards to ease up. God it was mind wrenching!

That it really happened, and that in real life, Edwin Epps was even more cruel, made it that much more gut- and heart-wrenching to me. Have you read the book?

Nope. Hopefully, I'll , someday but not sure if have the nerves to go through if "even more" cruelty is in it.
