Remember scene where Solomon Northup is slapped for not answering to the name of Platt? Someone posted the actual list of slaves that was read from. Platt's name is there with others.
There is also an 1800's New York Times article which tells what happened to Solomon Northrup. There is a photo of the actual place where Solomon is beaten after waking up from the drug in chains.
the slave plantation is still there and used in movie, and that area is real area where slaves were lynched.
