The book _12 Years a Slave_ was NOT a best seller.

The book sold 30,000 copies total. Even director Steve McQueen said the book didn't do well when it came out because of other more popular books.

By comparison, Mark Twain's book _Adventure of Huckleberry Finn_ was a best seller. It sold 200,000 copies EVERY YEAR.

Another similar novel, Harriet Stowe's _Uncle Tom's Cabin_ sold 300,000 copies in USA first year alone, and 1,000,000 copies in UK. That was a best seller.

So, why do people still refer _12 Years a Slave_ as a "best seller"? Was it guilt?

Show me the holes!
