Django Unchained was way better

Don't get me wrong, 12 years a slave was good. But it wasn't nearly better than Django Unchained, American Hustle, or any other of the films it beat at the Oscars. It's a movie I, nor anybody I know, would never want to watch again ever.

This one was a semi-biography. Django Unchained was fiction. Fiction is easier to make viewer-friendly than historical movies, who have to stay accurate and true to the actual events.

That's....not strictly true.

Is rewatchability a big deciding factor in which movie is better? In the case of such heavy content, I would say, "no". I adore "Requiem For A Dream" but I'm NEVER in the mood to go back to it because it is so painful.

They're both very fine movies that tackle the same content but in completely different ways. Both should be applauded. As for American Hustle, I found it dreadful. For me, it slogged on forever with very little to show for it.

For me, yes it is. Why only watch a movie once? A movie can be really good, like 12 Years a Slave was, but I'd never want to watch it again and that is a deciding factor as to how I liked it. Hell, I've seen Sophie's Choice, Pans Labryinth and American History X more than 1 times and those are just as disturbing and intense.

I thought American Hustle was boring. This movie certainly wasn't boring.

I found this movie to be very good but intense.
