What did you think of this film? One of my best friends a African American man and his family have not seen the film nor do they want too. (Understandably) his father said he's tired of movies about slaves. So I'm curios did you enjoy the movie despite being very disturbing ? Or do you agree that they should stop with the time of slavery and move on to the Jim Crow era.
I actually don't mean this as an insult. Though it's an almost certainty that you'll take it as such. I'm actually only trying to help you understand a bit of how things SHOULDN'T work.
Your question is obviously quite unintentionally (yet quite comically) stupid. The problem is, you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't ask it. Why? Because it accidentally implies that a given, random, handful of black people on the board of "12YAS", somehow have the capacity to give you a good strong feel for how black people feel from coast to coast. Because, very loosely speaking, they all generally agree on "stuff like this".
Now the educational part is this. You unknowingly are making these very stupid assumptions because you've been very intentionally taught to. You've been sent subliminal messages your entire life, through every conceivable form of media, that so-called white people are individual humans. With all the inherent rights and privileges that go with that human individuality. Conversely, you've also been unknowingly taught your whole life that non-whites are not individual humans. That they are, in essence, "THEY's". To be always judged good or bad based on the collective actions of their racially defined groups. (Typically, with endless imagery of negative actions virtually always associated with all the so-called non-white groups.) And THAT is the essence of what your original question is doing. It is unknowingly asking, "as a group" how do black people collectively feel about this movie? And as a result, how should I then feel about the entire "black group" based on how their "collected" response compares to my "individual" response. Even if only two people respond! And finally, if a given black respondent is, say, combative towards your individual opinion, then "black people" are combative. And similarly, if he or she is "tired of slave movies", then "black people" are tired of slave movies. And thus, no further thought about "the black people" is necessary until more of that negative imagery I mentioned is subliminally presented to you.
The supposedly simple point is this. I'm simply trying to make you aware that you've been trained to do this very ugly and very unfair thing every minute of your entire life. And why am I doing this? Because once you're finally made aware that it's even happening, you then have a choice, for the first time, as to whether you want to fight against that programming or not. Again, you've been taught that they're not individuals, they're monolithic groups. So you can start by asking PEOPLE what they think. Instead of continuing to unknowingly ask "A black people" what "all black people" think. With absolutely no thought whatsoever as to the individuality of their ages, ethnicities, educations or personal backgrounds of any sort. Just that they're "A BLACK". And therefore one of the 40 million eligible spokesmen for the always like-minded and monolithic "black group".
It shouldn't still be working like that.
Break the cycle. And stop holding black people responsible for representing and speaking for their entire group. If YOU don't have to, THEY shouldn't have to. So start the process by ceasing to ask these kinds of very loaded questions in this very ignorant and very unfair way.
Best wishes.

Did I say do all blacks people hate these movies tho? I asked do you hold these same feelings or do you not mind these movies asking do you disagree ? So if anything I'm actually am treating people like people , do you hold these same opinions or do they differ. I'm American Indian and I've been asked questions like these and I don't get offended . You tried to act smart and PC. But you failed
Heck I didn't even ask the whole black community I asked do any other African Americans hold these same opinions . Interested and trying to educate myself . This movie was about the struggle of African American people in a dark history in America . I've been asked do I like dances with Wolves or do you dislike it cuz Russel means disliked it. It's not insulting nor is it wrong .
So the fact that I asked what New Zealanders thought of Taika Waititi's work over on his board is adhering to racist groupthink. Or when I asked what Jews thought of Schindler's List and the Pianist. Good to know.
You're 17 going on 18, and you're Australian? Yet felt the need to make snide comments on a board specifically related to the history and results of chattel slavery and institutional racism in America -- 8,000 miles away from you?
No.
Just...no.
You poor child.

Don't pay any attention to him. One of the most deranged SJWs I've seen on this site or on any other for that matter.

Now, please tell us again what you personally THINK is the problem with feminism again, for example. Because, while your belief about it may not actually be completely deranged, it sure helps to see how a twisted mind (despite being supposedly somewhat educated) can take something that should be totally intuitive and obvious, and instead completely contort it into something downright bizarre and bassackwards.
