Brad Pitt was miscast.

They should have gone for an unknown actor. His presence is too distracting. It took me out of the movie. It's like "oh, Brad Pitt just showed up! And he's the white savior :/

If you want to tell one of your A-list producers who, along with his production company Plan B, help to get this film wide release, that he can't play whatever role he wants to, be my guest .

Not saying I disagree with you, but Brad Pitt also got a best picture Oscar for this movie

reply

Meh he was the producer and obviously wanted his face included in the film. If you're paying for it they're not really gonna say no are they?

The point is as a producer, it's his job to get investors for the movie. Apparently, his being in the film (albeit for a minor role), is what helped him do so.

Even if he did choose that role, I don't blame him considering he has a Black child. If he has the wherewithal to choose, that's his prerogative.

LMFAO

ugh I know right? I had an epic eyeroll when I saw him as the white savior. OF COURSE

would have been more interesting if he cast himself as a slave master....or maybe not have been in the movie at all.

I read this in a chola accent.

Bit of trivia from the trivia section of this page..."Brad Pitt responded to criticism that his casting in a brief heroic role was self-indulgent, given that he was one of the producers of the film. Pitt claimed that he did not insist on being cast in the part, and that it was simply easier to secure funding for the picture if he was in it."

reply

He could have been in it in any part. But no, he has to pick the self-important hero part. Disgusting really.
