I don´t know how there are a lot of cancer movies... IMO the writers always are looking for strong emotions, but this is not issue to an entertainment.
I´m new grandad.

Another situation very common in movies are the torture.
In fact there are complete movies about this.
I´m sorry, I don´t like.

The “cancer movies” that I’ve seen usually involve adults (anyone seen “Wit”?). I can imagine having a child might make it rough to watch, but you don’t really see the child suffering throughout the film. She’s actually pretty happy (perhaps not fully understanding the gravity of her illness) and the parents do everything possible to keep her comfortable.

Not to criticize anyone for choosing not to watch the film because of this, but the fact of the matter is children do sometimes die from cancer. Are we to shy away from this because it could happen to our own child or a relative? Would it have been better if the child was killed in a car accident? The point of film is to bring real life situations to the screen. Life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows and film shouldn’t be all about escapism. Of course if the focus of the film was the child's cancer treatments and the abiding suffering, I would completely understand why people wouldn't want to watch it. I just didn't get that at all from this film.
