It just seems to me to be quite similar - a couple on the moors, the woman being led on by the man... seems like a really dark thing to bring up, but surely it must have crossed their minds. Something about the mindset of the two killers seems, despite the comedic element of the film, to give more understanding why Ian Brady and Myra Hindley did what they did.

I kinda' thought the same thing too. Also, Tina's love/obsession of dogs. Myra Hindley was also a massive lover of dogs and fiercely loved her own. Infact, during police questioning over the child murders, the only time Myra broke down and showed any kind of emotion was when the interviewing officer informed her that her dog had just died.

So anyone who loves their pets is like Myra Hindly? Wow I have heard it all now. There must be an awful lot of child killers then going by your theory. There was nothing in this film to suggest that it was anything like the moors murders. That would be sick and twisted. The victims weren't children and the murders were not sexually motivated.

I'm slightly taken aback that people are playing child death trump cards in comparing the two couples. Murder is murder, no matter the age of the victim/s. The couple in Sightseers are just as unpleasant as I imagine Hindley/Brady were.
Murdering a child that is more helpless to defend themselves than an adult is a worse crime than killing an adult, thats a fact. And thats why child murderers and rapists get killed and castrated in prison by other "normal" murderers.
