Strange, real, and raw
My boyfriend and I were browsing through FiOS and saw this film we'd never heard of. We saw it had some good reviews and was in film festivals, so we were blind going into it. Neither of us know what to expect at all.
I'll skip the synopsis, but I will say when it was over, both of us sat there sort of traumatized, not in horror (there's none of that), but by how raw and real it was. We're both from southern states (Alabama and Tennessee), and it felt like the people we knew. It was a beautiful movie and strange and raw. My boyfriend said it kinda reminded him of the films Undertow and The Gift. Those movies were both strange too, but Come Morning is its own kind of strange. For awhile, we couldn't stop talking about it. It is very internal, and it leaves a lot to think about. Definitely has replay value, at least one more time.
