I only watched this because I like Nicolas Cage and expected it to be another dud based off the recent independent films he's done, but this was actually pretty good. Not great by any means and it's pretty formulaic for a crime thriller of this breed, but it's still well made and is filmed particularity well and manages to hold it's tension throughout the whole film. Best of all, the performances were really great. Nicolas Cage and John Cusack stand out in particular. Still, it's pretty generic, but entertaining and worth watching for the performances.

I count six shots.

I liked it as well. Had mixed expectations... The imdb scores are becoming quite misleading these days, but generally the user reviews can be trusted. I probably rate it around 7-7.5, certainly worth the time.

You are right.. imdb rating nowadays is misleading.. I gave this movie an 8.. both Nicolas and John were on top form.. Its a crime movie based on true story..!! Those that rated this movie anything lower than 7 knows nothing about what a good movie is all about.

I think given the subject matter that it could have been a LOT better. However, Nic Cage DOES turn in decent performance, not seen since 8mm and for that reason, it gets the thumbs-up from me.
