Some of the worst shaky cam I've ever suffered through...

Seriously hard on the eyes and amateurish. Solid performances are betrayed by zero filmmaking technique. Why do these directors, especially first timers, think that shaky cam is going to be add authenticity to their storytelling. It's headache inducing and pulls me out of the film every time. These guys need to learn how to block shots for the best spatial geography and learn from the old masters. This on the fly crap is ruining every second film. It worked a few times - BOURNE SUPREMACY being one of them. But not for this type of procedural film.

I agree, I don't understand why they keep doing that. I didn't even think that it worked in Bourne Supremacy (maybe a few scenes, but it was too much there too).
If you must, do a scene or two, but not the whole movie! I want to beat these directors with a tripod!

otomh, a horrific movie with Bjork comes to mind. Dancer in the Dark or something like that.

and no, shaky cam never really adds anything

Shaky cams may start in college film school, where the teachers and therefore the students think they are "artsy." To me shaky cams are really irritating and can't end soon enough.
