Pro: - Very well built up tension while the story progresses. - Nice environmental shots - No actionmovie drama, which is good
Cons: - I don't like camera shake/move effect on the big screen. (as i also read subtitles) - The secondary storyline (Jack with his wife) is rather weak. (i suspect there is some editing done)
Also saw the sneak yesterday..The story was indeed nicely built up. It was a relieve to see Cage in this type of movie. He is such a great actor but makes the worst choices in roles. Same goes for Cusack. And for 50cent (No just kidding, 50 cent shouldn't act...at all)
I didn't mind the shaky cam scenes at all, in fact i think they added just an extra bit of atmosphere (especially the indoor scenes at the strip clubs etc.)
As far as the second storyline considers...totally agree. Not sure why they did that..When Cindy stays over, it seems there has been a lot of previous arguing which we never got to see except for some silent awkward moments. The way she reacted seemed kinda out of the blue.
- The pace in the first half was very slow, but in my opinion no tension was built up. - Characters make annoyingly stupid decisions. - The family 'problems' between Cage and wife made no sense. Neither did the change of heart from the wife. (I mean, she already was a rape and close-to-murder victim.) - 50 Cent should never be in any movie again. Hudgens wasn't good either.
Story spoilers coming - They first search the house with 10 men. They do not find a thing. Cage says: search again. They find a hatch/shutter. How do you miss that with 10 men? - Same goes for the flight map. Nobody thinks: "Hey, maybe these crosses mean something" before Cage 'discovers' what they mean.
Big story spoiler coming - The A Few Good Men ending, with the psyhological pressure from Cage and Cusack giving in actually made the people in the cinema laugh in disbelief. Most people actually walked out while the pictures of the dead women were still being shown. Disrespectful a little, but the movies fault.
It's funny because these things can happen (ie officers discovering something on the second search). The murder of Tia Sharp is a case in point: officers discovered her body in the house on the fourth search. I agree that it doesn't seem plausible on film though. But this is based on a true incident so it's possible I guess. I wonder how many of the events in this were embellished?
I'm just curious the whole Disney good girl image that vanessa hudgens is trying to get rid of an based on the trailer she plays a stripper. What exactly does she do that's provocative in this movie ? Are the strip scenes graphic are there other scenes ? And if so can you elaborate ?
So she didn't do anything like Natalie Portman did in closer ? She doesn't give anybody a lap dance or strip ? And it's just the scene from the trailer ?
She may have not been the most accurate stripper in my opinion but she was definitely the hottest stripper of any a list actress then Marisa tomei follows
Cage was great in the film. Cusack was good. Hudgens' role was horrible and extremely annoying throughout the film. Totally unbelievable and ridiculous how she kept running away from the protection, security and help being offered and right back into the strip clubs and whore houses, essentially back into the arms of the killer. Why they couldn't stick with the true story is a mystery... would have made for a much better true-to-life film. What a shame.
The way she was raised you can imagine that she is quite stupid or atleast low on rational thinking. Probably didnt like or trust the police as whores rarely do.
The true story: She escaped the murderer. He was actually chasing her but she just got to the highway a moment earlier and a passing truck stopped to pick her up. So she told the truck driver to take her home. The truck driver called police after he got to his destination. So they found her with cuffs still on at her or what ever place she was in.
So what kind of person doesnt contact the police herself immediately. A stupid whore thats who. So its actually quite accurate.
silly I know, but I cant even remember the details of what happened in the film now... says a lot about it huh. I only remember it was a FAR stretch from the truth of what actually happened. so unfortunately I cant argue with you about the minute details scene-by-scene fact vs fiction... coulda been much much better if they stuck to the true story
Silly, like using animated emoticons in a discussion about a film intended for adults? Unless you are an 11-year girl, please stop. You are embarrassing yourself.
