Is she okay? She always seems extremely nervous and defensive, like something is about to pop out and scare her. She makes me really uncomfortable and I can't pinpoint exactly why...
I don't get the sense she's nervous but do get the feeling she's had to deal with being an outsider long before joining the show.
Training your kid in dance is an expensive activity. Most middle class families wouldn't be able to afford it unless it's just as a hobby or they make severe sacrifices.
What she said last episode about her city being segregated with African Americans in the city and white people in the suburbs was very revealing. Where do you think the prestigious dance studios are if parents are serious about getting their kids top training? I bet she had to deal with snooty dance parents who ostracized her and made her feel like she didn't belong for all of Camryn's dance career.
She's becoming my favorite mom now that Holly is no longer the designated sane mom anymore.
