Watched a few epis last night for the first time in a couple years. Last time I watched (2014 maybe),JoJo was still part of the team. Where did she go and what happened?
"Twilight follows the brightest day, And every cat in the twilight’s gray, Every possible cat."
Jojo and Jess left during the last part of season 6. The reason (at least the one given on the show) was that she had a ballet duet with Kendall and she didn't want to do it because it was too hard. She cried about it and Jess said she wasn't going to do it. The next day they weren't at the studio and they also missed the competition; they've been gone ever since. Of course, given the types of routines Jojo has done in the past without complaint (dancing inside a plastic bubble for example), it's possible/probable that she just wanted off the show to pursue other things and that was the best onscreen excuse they could come up with. I think she's still friends with the girls though, b/c she's been to events with them and stuff. I'd thought she was supposed to appear on one episode this season, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the response. Sad to hear JoJo is gone for good, loved the energy she brought to her performances. Doesn't sound like a typical DM exit though (not enough drama)!

Jojo was starting to blow up on youtube and score guest roles on preteen oriented cable shows and her filming commitment to Dance Moms was holding her back.
Naturally she wanted to explore other options, but I guess only the Zieglers are afforded a dignified exit from the show, so they concoted some BS plot about her leaving the team because she didn't want to do a ballet routine. I'm sure in real life her parents and the show came to a mutual understanding.
Jojo and Jess know the game. Get in, get your shine, and move on to better things. Like Maddie and Asia. I don't think they ever intended on being lifers.
