Is this filmed in the same place as 2 and a half men?

The house/setting sure looks the same

How can it be? Two and a half men was still airing. They couldn't possibly go back and forth with prop changes. Or could they?

Say what?! They don't look the same at all. There are a LOT of differences between them! The Two and a Half Men house was a beach house in Malibu with some ocean-view windows, an outside ocean-side deck, stairs going down to the beach, and several other distinctive architectural features in and around the house. The main entrance door with the speak-easy window comes to mind.

The house in Anger Management appears to be a suburban rambler style of house with no real views and no outside deck to speak of... it too has its own distinctive interior features which make it quite a bit different from the Two and a Half Men house.

Both houses have an upstairs level, but the stairway going up to the upstairs level is quite different between the two of them. Even the kitchens are quite different. The only similarity is that both kitchens have a round wooden dining table.

No I see what the OP means both houses feature a front door that opens onto a open plan living room area with stairs to bedrooms, both have a separate kitchen with large dining table at the forefront etc.

I assume its for ease of filming, makes it easier for them to set up scenes if there is no hallway to walk through after opening the front door, living room scene > moves to kitchen instead of living room scene > hallway > kitchen> dining room.

no different to the way bedrooms are always entered via a door on the right with the foot of the bed facing camera, how many times have you seen a bed side on in a tv show?

reply

Doesn't look the same to me. It does resemble the same kind of layout as the houses used in Gary Unmarried and According to Jim and very loosely to the house in Life on a Stick.

reply

i thought "according to jim " used the "married with children" set, especially the lounge facing the camera.

I have never seen a sticom house with the kind of staircase that Charlie Goodson's has, and for the life of me I can't see how you find them so similar that you could even ask that question.

But the house that Jen lives in does look exactly like the one in Still Standing (different colors, but the layout is identical).

Doubt it. Usually long term shows have exclusive stages. This is an FX show so they probably used one of the Fox stages. Two and half men use Warner brothers stage.

I once heard it was the house where they shot "Poltergeist".
Don't really know if it's true though.
