How did Nurse Barbara catch septicemia? One minute she’s tired then an hour later they call the ambulance.

I’m unclear about that too. It all seemed so rushed to kill her off. (Never liked the actress or the character anyhow).
Glad they kept hunky Tom on! Maybe he will pair up with Trixie again when she returns.

shareUgh, that is even more frustrating. They could have written off both characters happily, by having them move to a mission in Indonesia.
Maybe the Tom actor wants an option to return. I really didn’t like the pairing with Trixie. They weren’t a good match imo. Glad Trixie is back. She brings a bit of glamour and can’t wait to see her model all the ‘60s styles.
The show is not great at writing off characters. Barbara and Cynthia’s departures were the worst. Chummy’s was vague. Keeping her husband in Poplar without her was awkward. Keeping Jenny on as the narrator with no mention of the original character is odd too.
Despite these blips, it is still a great show.
Christmas show was disappointing this year ( IMO).
