Bus Spotter's Anorak Corner, aka "that bus doesn't go there"

This is the corner for the "bus spotters" vis a vis films and tv.

I've been playing this game with another (lame) friend for decades, in which we try to find the wrong use of London bus numbers in films and tv.

Trixie said she took the 49 bus to her meeting and it was her kind of magic carpet to the AA healing.

My friend declares the jury is still out on this possible inaccuracy, however.

She pointed out that Trixie could have taken ANOTHER bus out of the East End but transferred to the 49 onward to her AA meeting.

I warned you. Anoraks unite!!! Pull out those 1961 bus shedules now! Did the no. 49 have a different route in 1961 from today's? Help.

P.S. Whatever bus Trixie was on, that bus stops right in front of where I live part of the year. It goes north and south in West London (between White City and goes south of the river to Clapham) not ANYWHERE near the East End. Does Heidi Thomas live in west London? Maybe she was having a joke with HER favorite bus.

It's a great bus. Ask Rumpole of the Bailey--he knows! It's his bus, too.
