Interesting how De Niro plays an insult comic

After having Don Rickles as his co-star in "Casino". I imagine we'll see a bit of Rickles in De Niro's performance.

This stirs up The King of Comedy!! Perfect casting choice.

I've read that Robert De Niro is a HUGE Don Rickles fan. Rickles used to bust his balls on set and De Niro loved it. Also, I've heard that when De Niro was growing up, that was the kind of humor he and his buddies engaged in. I bet that it's in his DNA and he'll give a fantastic performance. I bet it's nothing like The King of Comedy. I bet it's grounded. I bet it's "Wrestler"-esque.

Or it could possibly be like Billy Crystal's "Mr. Saturday Night"?

I might be going a little overboard here but I recently RE-discovered a film I saw as a kid on TV called Night and the City with De Niro and Jessica Lange and I thought first of all that it's a blast of a film, very special, and that De Niro portrayed such a cool character in the film that I'd never seen him done before and it grew on me so much while watching it that I thought it was his best acting ever. Sounds kind of blasphemous but the character has such an energy level that someone like Don Rickles easily comes to mind while watching it. The film is a real mixed bag because of a very loose script but De Niro keeps you with it, also Lange is so beautiful and it has the great Jack Warden in the mix as well. Check it out if you already haven't!
