The Release Date is not Encouraging

IMDb shows the release date of February 1st 2017. That's usually when the duds are released.

Probably a good thing Jen pulled out of The Comedian . IMDb shows it being released on February 1st 2017. Not encouraging. That time frame is when all the duds are released.
Cinelou is a lame distributor. They are probably hoping some prizewinner will buy it at festival time.

Just as with "Cake" they can announce an opening date and it means ZILCH. Linson has a better track record but not recently .... and not by much.

Considering Jen had NO OTHER WORK as her peeps alleged I can't imagine how this would have been a bad few days of shooting for her.

The release date was chosen around the same time the film started shooting. I have no idea why they decided on that date but I doubt it has anything to do with the quality of the film, which is currently still in post-production.

Oh, and I'm glad Jen pulled out. Leslie Mann is a much better actress, imo.

Duds like The Silence of the Lambs?

duds like wayne's world??

That's not really the case anymore. Yes, a lot of suspected turkeys are still released at this time. But there's also a trend where good movies are released that the studios think would have been hard to succeed during blockbuster season.

My signature is for sale. Reach out to dozens of people a year!

Silence of the Lambs was released in February of the year it won the Oscar

January is the dumping ground, not Feburary.
Whats funny is some of the best pics of the year are out in jan, because they all got limited released for Oscar Consideration but by January they open wide.

If this was a January release I'd panic, but Feb means not much competition and its close to Valentines Day.

I thought so too....If they honestly thought they had a good movie it may have been released during award season.
