Loved it!! Like a movie version of Red Dwarf (not quite as funny). What's up with people...scoring it so low? It's a light hearted jaunt worth viewing for a lot of chuckles and a bit of fun.

Unfortunately, it's now November 2014, and I just checked Netflix & Amazon Instant Video (& Amazon Prime) and although Amazon had a listing in its database, there were no items (no dvd/blu ray; no on-demand video/ streaming..) and Netflix had no listing at all. I suspect this film is unavailable, and will remain so, until it's IP owners can learn how to negotiate and let it get out there on a small margin (they probably think they can get a large %, gross margin points, and/or with upfront licensing fee, and the distributors are only willing to pay net points, a small % than they want, etc. Which is why they need a negotiator. Kevin Spacey, where are you?)

Pretty much this. It seems to me that the current rating, 7.5, is a bit higher than I might expect, but it was cute and it's nice to see people reacting so positively.
Space Station 76 is a somewhat similar scifi-comedy movie, but not as good.
Hyperdrive, another similar story, is a BBC scifi-comedy TV series. A lot of people were critical (I suppose it's not as good as Red Dwarf), but I really liked it.

I think a lot of people want to see more stories like this. As I was watching this movie it occurred to me that they should leave the set up after filming and continue making movies with the same set. A film like this isn't effects-driven so it's only a matter of constructing the spaceship; one could even use stock footage for the special effects and still tell interesting stories.
