Theatrical release for this?

So far I haven't heard anything about that.

The film has been given a U.S. theatrical release date of September 21st, 2012.
The film will also be available over a month earlier on Video On Demand, on August 9.

In New York, there seems to be only one theater showing this, and it has only one showing per day - just after midnight. I'm not sure if there will be any performances on weekdays.

I didn't expect it to be a blockbuster, but I'm surprised there is so little interest from distributors.

The movie about porn is surprisingly low on required selling points.

Either go all out and make a proper sleazy flick - making sure the gorgeous Ashley Hinshaw is the mainstay of the plot and in state of undress for most of the running time. Or have a strong screenplay that presses home about working in the porn industry can be form of a career or even an avenue to escape the harsh reality of life.

But Stephen made a fatal flaw. Maybe he wanted to appease the producers or conscious of A-lister(s) in his movie. He chose to go soft-R and Cherry in turn becomes a middling affair. Word of mouth effectively killed off any potential lengthy run in selected theaters despite the presence of Franco.

Cherry should do well on DVD market if Stephen releases unrated or extended version but I won't get my hopes high.

Commenter who calls this a "middling affair" is spot on. It feels like a long episode of a typical US television series. Production style, direction, screen play, story, everything is very polished and totally bland.

Incredibly boring to sit through in the cinema. It has some scenes of hot girls with their tits out, but if you're looking for that then you'll find a lot more in real porn, so what's the point of watching this?
