Had potential....but was too unfocused....
It really felt like there was 2-3 different movies being filmed that got stuck together and left out too much from each story.
At first I thought the film was going to be about how Cherry got sucked further into the world of porn, initially just wanting to do some photos, then eventually a solo scene, girl-girl scene, and finally the boy-girl scene (something she explicitly stated at the beginning she did not want to do), beit the temptation of money or pressure from the industry, she ends up being a full fledged porn star by the end.
Then I thought the movie was about Maraget's crumbling relationship.
I think maybe the movie was trying to show the separation between work and real life that folks in the industry can distinguish between but those in relationships with them cannot, justified or not.
Both Cherry and Margaret's relationships ended up failing out of jealousy issues, yet all they could really offer up to their spouses is "it's my job" Cherry seemed pretty disillusioned that a boyfriend would be jealous over her having sex with other men, whether it was for work or not. He was pretty harsh with her in the car though even if the issues he brought up were legit. He went about it kind of sh!tty.
How Cherry ends up with Margaret in the end in an implied "relationship" was totally rushed and made no sense, and then it showed Cherry as a director, which is pretty unheard of for someone to be behind the camera so soon in their career. It's like they had no ending so they had to just hurry one up.
The whole dynamic with her roommate treating him like a pal, when it was obvious he loved her.....
I dunno, this movie had potential to be a lot better.
