Killed the guy. Why the whole intrigue thing; stealing a corpse, playing mind games for hours with the guy who was killed 8 hours before the end of the movie. And they almost killed an innocent guy in the process
So there.
Spoilers...
After everything they did to fool him, to kinda torture him (loose his mind),
the plan went good and they proved him that they outsmarted him in every possible way
to get to him, to ruin him, his reputation, everything, then the simple nature of men kicked in, and they took their revenge.
In other words, everything before they killed him was the revenge for their mind/soul
and when they killed him, this was the purest instinct, the revenge for the body.
So they were completely satisfied.
Because what kind of boring movie would that have been if they did it that way?!
shareThey manipulated him into betraying and killing his wife. Then made him confess to it. Then told him his mistress who he did it for was playing him the whole time. Then told him they had poisoned him 8 hours ago and were just fucking with him until he died.
pretty amazing payback and revenge. that's why they didn't just kill him.
