The scene where the parents (Mike and Katie) think that their son Danny took the mom's painkiller, Danny says to the dad when he was accused of stealing them : "...the pills she has to take because of what you gave her".

What do you think he gave the mom? What condition I mean.

He gave her Hep C

but the pills were Percocet. Since when do people take that for Hep C? i am not clear on this element of the plot.

People who have Hepatitis C can take percocet to manage their pain.
