I am certainly not saying bullying is right, but this movie is incredibly stupid. They called her a slut and she got suicidal? Jeez, just your account. This is definitely the family friendly version of bullying. The character had no backbone. Odd Girl Out is much more realistic IMO. They actually emotionally abused her, not just called her names.

Depression stems from more than just what you see. There would have been other things than just what was mentioned in the storyline.

Yeah, but what we never see anything to warrant her depression other than "My brother wears shoes like that, he's ten!" The bullying she experienced was really, REALLY mild.
