I liked it better when...

It was called IDENTITY. IMHO it was all in Michael's head & he was taking out all his other personalities but it was looping because his personalities kept coming back. It was alright though.

Personally, I like it better when people compare films to films they are actually similar to. This isn't even close to that movie:

Identity -- A group of strangers trapped in a Motel during a storm slowly realize that they are not strangers, that they are actually somehow connected to each other. This unfolds as they are being killed off one by one. This occurs concurrently with a serial killer being evaluated as to whether he's mentally competent to stand trial.

Mine Games -- A group of friends go to a cabin (where they are not killed off one by one) and slowly start to realize there is something supernatural going on.

Even if your interpretation of "Mine Games" is correct (which I don't think it is at all) it's an enormous stretch to claim these two films are even similar, let alone fundamentally the "same film."

I guess you didn't understand my post so let me clarify. I'm saying that if it is even remotely in the vein of Identity (Mine Games being a pun on Mind Games) then Identity did a much greater job than this movie ever will.

I mean I never state in my original post that it's fundamentally the "same film" because it's obviously not. Thus the films would be similar in the context that it's a schizo dude taking out the alternate personalities in his head. The mine is the schizo's mind & the uroboros (snake eating itself) is the schizo devouring his different personalities.

Check out this thread I just found on the Mine Games board

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1928337/board/thread/218872558

So I'm not the only one who saw it as a psychological thriller rather than a supernatural time travel piece. Also I'm not saying that I have the definitive view on this film because I didn't write it. It's just when they added the schizo's split personality at the end it galvanized the movie for me and showed me it was more like the twist in Identity and less like the time loop of Groundhog Day.

I don't think it was all in his head at all, it was a supernatural film where the loop was broken right at the end.

That's what some people are saying, others are saying Mine Games is a pun for Mind Games & think it's a Fight Club in his dome. Anyway I watched it in the middle of the night so the only thing I lost was a bit of sleep.

Schizophrenics do not have multiple personalities. That is a bad definition that is perpetuated by the uninformed. Schizophrenics can have multiple personalities if they also have Multiple Personality Disorder - also known as Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Don't feel bad. It's a common misconception.

Thank you. I understand what you're saying. I simply didn't use the absolutely correct terms in this informal setting. The movie's name was officially changed to The Evil Within which could go both ways but I still opt for the internal Fight Club analysis of said flick.

This was a complete copy of triangle or might as well have been.

Dude I never saw that or I might be saying something similar.
